David Knaack, Ph.D.


Vice President, Product Development
Dr. Knaack has made significant contributions to the development of novel biomaterials for medical devices as a product development manager for several biotechnology companies, most recently as Senior Director for R&D at Osteotech, Inc. He is a registered patent agent with strategic intellectual property development experience for growth factor delivery, polymer-tissue composites, and cell line development. Dr. Knaack has published in the fields of composite and biomaterials development as well as tissue engineering and cell and molecular biology. He is a named inventor on six issued U.S. patents. He holds an undergraduate degree in Chemistry from St. Lawrence University and a doctoral degree in Neurochemistry from Cornell University. He completed post doctoral work in Molecular Biology at Harvard Medical School, as a Howard Hughes Fellow. He joined ORTHOCON® in 2006.
